Frequently Asked Questions

  • The booking process goes a little something like this;

    You make an enquiry via email/socials etc. From there I will send you my packages (either portrait or commercial) and availability. When you have selected your package and a date I will invoice you for a deposit. Once paid your shoot is locked in!

  • I will always consult with you before the shoot to make sure that your selected locations will translate well on camera. If you aren’t sure what kind of location you would like I am happy to make suggestions, however it is the clients responsibility to organise and seek permission to use locations.

  • Yes! After the shoot I will cull the gallery down to only the useable images. Then I’ll send them to you with a light edit over so that you can select your favourites.

  • The following are regular wait times for final images to be delivered;

    For shoots of three hours or less:

    A proof gallery will be sent, for you to select your favourites, 5 business days after the shoot.

    A final gallery will be delivered 5 business days after you have notified me that your favourite images have been finalised.

    For shoots over three hours:

    A proof gallery will be sent, for you to select your favourites, 7 business days after the shoot.

    A final gallery will be delivered 7 business days after you have notified me that your favourite images have been finalised.

    The final gallery will not be delivered until any outstanding invoices are paid in full.

    If the wait time is expected to be any longer I will notify you when booking.

    Please remember to consider public holidays.

  • Yes, I am always happy to make suggestions however it is the responsibility of the client to contact and book models as well as organising their hair, makeup, nails etc.

    I always suggest booking models with some experience and confidence to make your shoot more efficient.

  • Portrait sessions are catered to your vision so you can wear anything you like. If you are unsure what to wear just go with something you’d wear normally- I want you to be comfortable!

  • For commercial shoots I recommend planning and styling looks beforehand. You can do this yourself or you can hire a stylist who will take the stress out of putting together your looks. I am happy to bring along styling items at you or your stylists request however if you’d like me to style your shoot and put together your looks myself an extra fee will apply when booking.

  • If the weather is extreme enough (rain, extreme winds) that it will effect my ability to create quality images I will postpone your shoot date. The shoot must be rescheduled as soon as possible. If the shoot is not rescheduled within 30 days of the original date your original deposit will void and a new deposit will be required.

    While an overcast sky gives a different lighting effect to a bright sunny day, both are great for creating beautiful images. If you wish to postpone due to non-extreme Weather (such as overcast when you hoped for sunshine) your original deposit will void and a new deposit will be required for your new date.

  • If you would like to postpone your shoot you must give one weeks notice for your deposit to be transferred to a new date.

    This new date must be within 30 days of the original shoot date or your original deposit will void and a new deposit will be required for your new date.

    If you choose to postpone less than a week before your shoot your original deposit will void and a new deposit will be required for your new date.

    In the event that the photographer chooses to postpone due to extreme Weather or illness your shoot will be rescheduled to a new date as soon as possible.

    If you choose to cancel your shoot a deposit will not be refunded.

  • Yes I will give you direction and prompts to help you feel as comfortable as possible in front of the camera.

  • Before your commercial shoot you should;

    Ensure that all of the models are aware of the brief and what is required of them.

    Ensure that you have notified the photographer of any specific requests.

    Have a run sheet prepared and send it to everyone involved so that the shoot doesn’t run over time.

    Have all looks planned, styled and designated to a model and location so that you always know what is coming up next.

    Consider any travel time and factor that into your run sheet.

    Consult with the photographer about locations and lighting for best results.

    Be aware that things can change throughout the day and that photoshoots, especially those with multiple models/outfits can be very stressful if not well organised. Planning is your best friend and will make the shoot smoother and the images better, however you should still be ready to improvise when things don’t go to plan!

  • Preparing for a portrait shoot is quite simple when you are only organising yourself. Onece you figure out where you’d like to shoot and what you’d like to wear you are essentially sorted.

    If you are booking a portrait shoot with more than one subject or with a more in depth creative brief I will chat t you beforehand to make sure that any other necessary planning has been sorted out.

  • Your images will follow the general style of work displayed on my website and social media.

    I stick to one editing style that is quite grainy and vintage inspired. I lean towards warm tones and low contrast.

    My images will always be delivered in this style so please consider my previous work before booking.

    I will make sure that any items being shot for commercial purposes are edited to reflect their true colour so as to not be misleading.

    Please understand that different lighting situations will create a different style of image that cannot be adapted in post-production (eg. an overcast day cannot be edited to appear sunny and clear).

    If you have any specific requests for editing please notify me before booking so that we can discuss your options. Edits will not be adjusted after images are delivered.

  • Yes I will do light retouching (eg removing a pimple or bruise from the subject) however the subject will not have any heavy editing such as airbrushing.

  • Yes you can, either when selecting from your proof or at a later date.

    Get in touch with me and I will list all of your image upgrade options based off the package you have already booked.
